May 22. Suffolk Punch Brewing will open in Birkdale Village early next year in an already iconic two-story structure across from Fox & Hound and the old Corkscrew space. Sitting directly on The Grove, its rooftop bar will face the new big screen and concert area.

Seth Stidham, co-owner and COO of Suffolk Punch Brewing, said “we are absolutely stoked” to open in Birkdale. It will be their third location.

On May 13, Suffolk Punch Brewing’s second brewery, taproom, cafe and coffee bar opened in SouthPark Mall. The brewery opened its first location in South End in 2017.

The new taproom at the center of Birkdale Village is expected to accommodate 230 guests indoors and outdoors.

Brews and food

In addition to brews like Daydream Lager, Pulp Prescription NEIPA and Tropical Tree Tops Fruited Sour Ale and seltzers, a chef-driven menu will rotate seasonally and accent local ingredients.

The head brewer is Brad Maas; the executive chef is Michael Rayfield.

Quotable

“We’ve been admiring the improvements and overall direction that NAP has taken the community recently. When the opportunity arose to bring Suffolk Punch to the center of this incredible neighborhood, it was basically a no-brainer for us. We’re absolutely stoked to join the stellar lineup at Birkdale and to serve all of our friends in the Lake Norman area,” Stidham said.

  1. Curious as to why Suffolk Punch ended up with this spot instead of one of the LKN area breweries like D-9, Lost Worlds or Primal?

  2. I hope everyone is sober enough not to fall over the railing or down those stairs.
    Anyone say elevator?
