Visit Lake Norman honored with two awards at the North Carolina Tourism Conference

Nov. 10 Visit Lake Norman was honored with two exceptional achievement awards in destination marketing at the North Carolina Tourism Conference recently. The awards were presented for marketing initiatives between July 2013 and June 2014. VLN received a Gold Award in Destination Print Advertising — Group Market and the Innovation Award for Destination Excellence in Workforce Development — Ambassador Program.

The Gold Award was for the company’s “Say I Do” wedding and “Reunited & It Feels So Good” reunion promotional campaigns. The Innovation award was in recognition of VLN’s Ambassador Program, which instituted 22 ambassadors to work at the visitor center for approximately 3,324 hours during 2014. The award selection committee was comprised of peers from South Carolina, Virginia and North Carolina industry affiliates.
