IngersollRandUnitedWayAward

Ingersoll Rand received United Way of Central Carolinas’ top donor award.

May 10. Continuing an annual tradition, United Way of Central Carolinas honored its top Mooresville/Lake Norman donors with an appreciation breakfast May 5 at the Peninsula Club sponsored by MSC Industrial Supply Company.

The event included special recognition for Ingersoll Rand, which won both the Top Campaign and Largest Campaign awards, and the employees of Mooresville/Lake Norman’s top 10 corporate contributors, which were given one-of-a-kind artwork created by children helped by Our Towns Habitat for Humanity. The top 10, in order, were:
• Ingersoll Rand
• GM Financial
• NGK Ceramics USA Inc.
• Valspar Corporation
• BIC USA Inc.
• SABIC Innovative Plastics
• Lowe’s Companies Inc.
• Carolinas HealthCare System-Mooresville
• Modern Nissan of Lake Norman
• Town of Mooresville

With the support of the Mooresville/Lake Norman community, United Way announced in April that it met its regional goal of raising $22 million across United Way’s five-county area.

“We had excellent local participation this year, from our Day of Caring, to strong company campaigns, and now in our Community Investment Councils that are evaluating agency results,” said Richard Heins, United Way’s regional vice president. “We couldn’t make it work without our passionate volunteers, led by board chair Howard Peabody, campaign chair Eric Livingston and community investment chair Leroy Foster. I’m excited to hear so many leaders say they believe we can do even better next year.”

“Beyond the campaign’s tremendous success, I’m thankful for everyone here who participated in our recent Community Conversations in the Lake Norman area,” said Sean Garrett, United Way’s executive director, who spoke at the event. “The local feedback on your aspirations and concerns, combined with the strong engagement that already exists here, allows us to collectively continue strengthening this wonderful community.”

Following the successful fundraising campaign, United Way’s annual community investment will be announced in June.
