A company with national publicity has moved to Mooresville from Massachusetts, opening a shipping and fulfillment warehouse on Backstretch Lane.

Twin Z Pillow Co. has opened with three employees in 3,192 square feet of space. No incentives were given, according to Jessica Stewart at Mooresville/South Iredell Economic Development.

On an episode of ABC’s “Shark Tank,” cast member Lori Greiner invested $75,000 in the company which started out making nursing pillows designed for twins. It has recently begun making nursing pillows for mothers with one baby.

Explaining that there are 135,000 twins born every year, Twin Z owners Michelle and Jason Barsosky said the business is on track to do $510,000 this year, $1.2 million to $1.5 million next year. They said they double every nine months.

In a press release, the Mooresville EDC said Twin Z chose to move to North Carolina to be closer to suppliers.

The Barosky’s on-air pitch asked for $75,000 in exchange for 10 percent of the company.

Reached by phone, Michelle said, “as far as revenues, let’s just say if you watched the show ‘Shark Tank,’ we have far surpassed  our number.”

She said the company expects to hire more people at the Mooresville location at 122 Backstretch Lane.

In June, ABC announced a seventh season of Shark Tank, which will premiere on Friday, Sept. 25. Ashton Kutcher, music manager/CEO Troy Carter (music industry), and venture investor Chris Sacca will star as “Guest Sharks.”
