Travis reappointed to NC Turnpike Board

​Former Cornelius Mayor Chuck Travis has been re-confirmed as a member of the NC Turnpike Authority Board of Directors. The Charlotte architect served as the mayor of Cornelius following two terms as a Town Commissioner. While Mayor he also served as the Vice Chairman of the N.C. Metropolitan Mayors Coalition. He previously served as the Chairman of the Lake Norman Transportation Committee and as a member of the local Metropolitan Planning Organization. Travis has also served on the Metropolitan Transit Commission. His term on the N.C. Turnpike Authority Board of Directors runs from 2019 to 2023.

The nine-member Board of Directors consists of the secretary of the N.C. Department of Transportation, four members appointed by the governor, two by the president pro-tem of the N.C. Senate and two by the speaker of the N.C. House of Representatives.

The next N.C. Turnpike Authority Board of Directors meeting will take place Aug. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at the N.C. Department of Transportation in Raleigh.
