Reopening of Flair Trade consignment store still delayed

Szilva Harman is working to reopen Flair Trade retail consignment in Cornelius.

June 5. Szilva Harman is updating Flair Trade Upscale Consignment fans about the store’s delayed opening.

“Our original plan had us opening late spring,” Harman wrote in an email to customers. “Unfortunately, we encountered challenges with the architectural plans which have set us back several months.”

Harman is as eager as customers for the store to reopen in its new location at 20430 W. Catawba Ave., the retail strip anchored by Golds Gym.

Harman, of Davidson, apologized for being out of touch.

“This whole process with delay after delay after delay has been so frustrating that I just didn’t know what to say to you all,” Harman wrote. “Please know that reopening is my primary focus and it will be until the doors are open again.

“Things are moving forward, only a lot slower than I was told.

There are still many unknowns, but I will be in touch again as soon as I have a clear timeframe for the reopening,” she wrote.

Store background

Flair Trade closed under former owner Jennifer Harrison in September.

Harrison said the store lost its lease in The Shops at Fresh Market to make make room for the TJX’s Home Sense concept store and Total Wine. Total Wine plans to move from Birkdale Village.
