People on the move: Chamber hires new staffer; another retires

Jan. 4. The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce has hired Leslie Reid of Mooresville as the new vice president investor relations and development.

Sylvia Spury, executive vice president, retired Dec. 15 from the chamber after serving for almost three decades in a staff role with three different chambers of commerce.

Laura Rizzetta, who was hired in February 2022 will assume the role of executive vice president.

Reid is a graduate of The University of Georgia with a BFA in Interior Design, finishing her degree in Cortona, Italy in commercial design.  She has 22 years of interior design experience, owning her own business for 12 years.  She opened a retail shop in Cornelius in 2001.

In 2012, she joined Pet Pilgrimage Crematory and Memorials as director, serving families as they navigate the grief of losing their family pet. She is a graduate of the Lake Norman Leadership Class of 2016-2017.  She also served as a Chamber Ambassador from 2019-2020.
