Peninsula home sells for almost $5 million

July 19.  By Dave Yochum. A landmark home at 17002 Freshwater Lane, located across Harbor Light Boulevard from The Peninsula Yacht Club, has sold for just under $5 million.

The 7,724 square-foot (HLA) lakefront house sold for $4.9 million according to Mecklenburg County property records. Jennifer Stewart with Allen Tate had the listing.

2nd-most expensive this year

It’s the second-highest price home sale in North Meck so far this year. A 9,894-square-foot mansion on nearby Flying Jib sold for $6.25 million on June 16.

Price appreciation

The two-story stone house on Freshwater last sold for $3.42 million in 2011, a 44 percent increase. It’s assessed at $4 million, according to Mecklenburg County records. It has six bedrooms, six baths and an outdoor kitchen overlooking the pool and Lake Norman.

The house was built in 1998 on 1.88 acres.
