Orbus’ new $25 million plant in Huntersville means 100 new jobs

New production facility: Orbus Visual Communications/SEG Systems/Fabric Images

March 22. Orbus Visual Communications is opening a new $25 million manufacturing facility in Huntersville that will create 100 new jobs, in addition to the 86 jobs moving from Charlotte.

Orbus is the nation’s largest producer of visual communications solutions for trade shows, retail environments and workplace interiors. Orbus, which acquired SEG Systems in 2022 and Fabric Images in 2020, will move its headquarters here from Woodridge, Ill.

The new 225,000 square foot production facility on Hambright Road will incorporate SEG Systems’ and Fabric Images’ entire production capabilities, including printing, metal fabrication, fabric architecture manufacturing, wood working, acoustical felt production, powder coating and lighting.

Launched in Charlotte, SEG focuses on the engineering, design and manufacture of lightboxes, frames, and merchandising and display systems.

“The Town of Huntersville is appreciative of SEG Systems’ and Fabric Images’ choice to expand and relocate,” said Mayor Christy Clark.

SEG Systems clients include Audi, Nike and Wrangler.
