New window/door plant opening in Statesville

May 4. Charlotte-based window and door manufacturer JELD-WEN Holding will invest $7.9 million in a new production facility in Statesville. Its VPI Quality Windows brand will bring 235 new jobs to Iredell County.

The average annual salary for the new VPI new positions is $51,648 with a potential payroll impact of more than $12.1 million per year.

Over the 12-year life of an economic development grant, JELD-WEN may be reimbursed $2 million. The enteprise is expected to grow the state’s economy by more than $492 million.

Because JELD-WEN is expanding to Iredell County, classified by the state’s economic tier system as Tier 3, the company’s Job Development Investment Grant agreement will result in the allocation of up to $735,000 into the state’s Industrial Development Fund – Utility Account.

JELD-WEN employs more than 490 people at the Charlotte headquarters and Wilkes County.
