July 14. Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation (LCEF) has funds available in Iredell County and North Mecklenburg areas and is currently seeking applications. Grants are awarded to local nonprofit organizations focused on public education or community improvement projects. Projects submitted for a hometown grant are considered and awarded separately from national LCEF grants.
Lowe’s Hometown Advisory Committee, which includes representatives from education, recreation and business in Lake Norman-area communities, reviews applications and recommends grants for funding. Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation has earmarked $250,000 in annual contributions for Lake Norman-area community improvement and public school projects. An additional $250,000 in Hometown grants are also awarded to local nonprofit organizations in the Wilkes County area.
To apply for a Lowe’s hometown grant, visit responsibility.lowes.com/apply-for-a-grant. Non-profit organizations should submit an application before September 1, 2015 to be considered for the next review, but applications are accepted throughout the year and awarded quarterly.
