LKN Chamber will host discussion with 3 Asian business leaders May 23

May 16. The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce will celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a special Lunch n’ Learn Tuesday, May 23. The panel discussion, part of the Chamber’s Diversity program will feature three Asian business leaders, including Dr. John Chen, chair of the Carolinas Asian American Chamber of Commerce.

The other panelists are Vinay Patel, principal for SREE Hotels, and Doug Kropelnicki, co-owner of A-1 Vaccum Solutions in Huntersville.

Differences and commonalities

The panelists will address the cultural differences that exist between Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and Pacific Islander people as well as how their businesses have integrated into local business and commerce.

The event, which runs from from noon to 1:30 pm, will be emceed by Dan Houston, chair of the Diversity Council.

Houston said the council is pleased to showcase various races and cultures with their differences as well as commonalities, and, “most importantly, how working together can make Lake Norman and the Charlotte region a great place to live, work and visit.”

The Lunch n’ Learn is primarily for chamber members but interested citizens can contact the chamber for availability. In person attendance is limited to the first 30 people who RSVP.
