LKN Chamber seeks nominations for ‘Small Business of the Year’

Candace Bongiovanni, with CoCo Couture – Lake Norman, receives the 2019 Cornelius Small Business of the Year from Chamber Board Chair Tricia Sisson, Mayor Woody Washam and President Bill Russell. The event was not held in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

May 4. The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce will be recognizing the “Lake Norman Small Business of the Year” for a business located in Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville and Mooresville in conjunction with the celebration of Small Business Week planned for May 24-28. The businesses selected will be honored at a special reception held at the Chamber Wednesday, May 26 at 4 pm. The reception will be one of many planned events for the week.

Among the criteria:

—A history as a Lake Norman established business, for no less than three years.

—Growth in number of employees

—Outstanding community involvement, including civic involvement by owner or manager.

—Business environment and management practices which produce a successful business.

—Business practices which encourage repeat customers and provide a conducive atmosphere for service or retail trade.

Chamber members with 15 or fewer employees are eligible for the award. Chamber members may submit as many businesses as they choose, or a business may nominate themselves.
