Aug. 30. An eight-bedroom lakefront mansion in Cornelius has hit the market at $9 million. Located on Tinker Place—a small street off Mollypop near the end of Belle Isle, the estate has over 300 feet of shoreline with wide main channel views.

The house has a spiral staircase, elevator, multiple great rooms, a movie theater, golf simulator, a resort-like pool, covered boat house, six-car garage and a pet room.

The cathedral ceiling kitchen has dual islands, a Wolf range, glass door Sub-Zero fridge and a scullery. There’s a second living area above garage as well as a gated entrance.

The house has more than 12,700 square feet of indoor living space.

Christina Stone with Allen Tate has the listing.

Demand for luxury estates

“There is tremendous interest and demand in the upper luxury market for unsurpassed quality, location, and amenities. The market remains strong for properties that meet the expectations of the most discerning buyer,” she said.

The stately home is assessed at $8.2 million, according to Mecklenburg County tax records.

It’s not the most expensive listing in Cornelius, however.

A house at the end of Harbor Light with 15,000 square feet is on the market for $16 million. Michelle Rhyne of Premier Sotheby’s International has the listing.
