Aug. 8 Central Piedmont Community College’s Board of Trustees has invited five finalists to interview to replace Dr. Tony Zeiss who announced his plans to retire in February. The finalists will interview with the trustees and meet with faculty and staff during candidate forums Aug. 22-30. The five finalists are:

Dr. Michael L. Ash, current president of Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa. Dr. Ash earned a doctorate in higher education from George Washington University. He has been president of Southeastern Community College since 2012 and is the former executive assistant to the president for resource development and external affairs at State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Mo.

Dr. Kandi W. Deitemeyer, current president of College of Albemarle based in Elizabeth City, N.C. Dr. Deitemeyer earned a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of South Florida. She has served as president of College of Albemarle since 2010 and is the former vice president of academic programs and services at Davidson County Community College in North Carolina.

Dr. Angeline D. Godwin, current president of Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville, Va. Dr. Godwin earned a doctor of jurisprudence from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a doctor of philosophy in English from Florida State University. She has been president of Patrick Henry Community College since 2012 and is the former president of Ashland Community and Technical College in Ashland, Ky.

Dr. Kirk A. Nooks, current president of Metropolitan Community College-Longview in the Kansas City, Mo., area. Dr. Kirk earned a doctorate in higher education administration from George Washington University. He has been president of Metropolitan Community College-Longview since 2013 and is the former campus dean and executive liaison for diversity initiatives at Georgia Highlands College.

Dr. Walter A. Tobin, current president of Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College in Orangeburg, S.C. Dr. Tobin earned a doctorate in education administration from the University of South Carolina. He has been president of Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College since 2011 and is the former vice president for academic affairs/chief academic officer at the college.
