Groundbreaking on the 80,000 square foot building is expected in late 2022 or early 2023.

Background

FIG co-founders Ericka and Bill Cain are the driving force behind the $25 million Cain Center for the Arts, currently under construction downtown. The Cains are celebrating 45 years in the financial and insurance industry and employ more than 150 people. Bill Cain was the chamber’s business person of the year in 2018.

FIG will be moving from its current Cornelius headquarters on West Catawba Avenue and Jetton Road when the new headquarters at 8715 Westmoreland is completed in November 2023.

Focus on community development

In a press release, the Cains, as well as partners Jim Cooper, Mike Mullan and Brian Williams, said community development is a core belief of the company.

“Because of this, it made sense to move forward with expansion of the company and the construction of a new campus, as well as broadening their outreach efforts in northern Mecklenburg County.”
