steve-morris-diane-honeycutt-betsy-smithNov. 15. Cabarrus County Commissioner Diane Honeycutt has received the All American Citizen Award from the American Red Cross, Western North Carolina Region at the Red Cross gala Nov. 4. Board chair Steve Morris presented the award.

“The All American Award is given to a member of the community who embodies the attributes of service, humility and philanthropy. The individual is chosen by a committee of community members in recognition of their work and love for the community they serve,” said Katrina Dirscherl, who is with the Red Cross.

Honeycutt was elected to the Cabarrus Board of Commissioners after a tough campaign in 2014.

Honeycutt has a long history of public service and volunteer work in and around Cabarrus County. She led the successful All America City Award effort in Concord in 2004, and received the Business Today Top Women in Business award in 2005.

Honeycutt is also the founder of Team Honeycutt, one of the top Allen Tate real estate teams in the Charlotte region.

Honeycutt is also a former chairwoman of the Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce.
