UPDATED OCT. 13.
Oct. 12. Szilva Harman, the new owner of Flair Trade, said in an email Wednesday that she is in the process of securing a lease on a commercial space in Cornelius.
“The location isn’t public just yet, all I can say is that it will be very close to the Torrence Chapel Flair Trade’s previous location.
This new space needs demoing and upfitting,” she wrote Oct. 13.
“The search for space was quite a challenge because prices almost doubled in Lake Norman’s popular retail areas, and finding a space bigger than a boutique size (1, 000 sft- 3, 000 sft) was not easy but we are on the move.” she wrote.
Store background
Flair Trade closed under former owner Jennifer Harrison in September.
Harrison said the store lost its lease in The Shops at Fresh Market to make make room for the TJX’s Home Sense concept store and Total Wine. Total Wine plans to move from Birkdale Village.
“Purchasing this business gives me the chance to continue using all that I have learned in the world of reselling, to be around others who also love following trends and style on a budget,” Harman, a Davidson resident, wrote.
Owner background
Harman, 44, drew up in Budapest, Hungary. She enjoys traveling and has lived in Sydney, Australia and Dubai.
Her family moved to the U.S. in 2013, and she, her husband, Jonathan, and their three children settled in the Lake Norman area in 2020.
“I love connecting with people, learning and personal development, fitness and nutrition, and kayaking on the lake,” she wrote.
Looking forward to this business being open again!
