Sept. 16. A lakefront house has come on the market for $5.8 million, one of the highest prices so far this year in Cornelius. The home, at 19129 Serenity Point Lane, has more than 10,000 square feet of space on a two-thirds acre waterfront lot.

The house was styled after the multimillion-dollar “cottages” in the Hamptons on New York’s Long Island, according to listing agent Catherine Taylor of Allen Tate Lake Norman office in Cornelius.

Features

The six-bedroom home has multiple covered porches, custom millwork and ceiling treatments and lake views from most every room, not to mention a wine cellar, elevator, chef’s kitchen, gym, workshop/art studio and recreation/media room.

Outside there’s a heated saltwater pool, multiple terraces and views of Jetton Park and Ramsey Creek Park.

The point lot has 330 feet of waterfront and great views.

National attention

Taylor said the Serenity Point listing has attracted attention from New Hampshire to California.

It’s pricey for sure, but it’s not the highest-price listing in Lake Norman right now. A lakefront house at 168 Broad Sound Pl. in Mooresville is on the market for $6.985 million. The swank abode has six bedrooms, 6.5 baths and 9,874 square feet of space on a 1.74 acre lot.

Highest price

Back in Cornelius, there have been several homes selling for more than $2 million in the past year, but the top dog in terms of price was an 11,672 square foot house on Tinker Place with seven bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms. It has an elevator, a themed theater room, a pet room with custom-built kennels and a six-car garage.

It sold for $6.6 million on Dec. 30 last year.
