Feb. 22. British-based Chime Communications LTD has acquired JHE Production, an event management company based in Harrisburg. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Founded in 1987, JHE has produced events like Speed Street in Charlotte and entertainment spectacles at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The company recently expanded into Nashville. It operates across a variety of sports ranging from the NFL and NBA to NASCAR, IndyCar and college sports, working with major broadcasters such as Fox and NBC.

Zak Brown, group CEO of CSM, said the “acquisition complements and expands our existing capabilities in CSM,” simultaneously opening up group-wide opportunities for clients and prospects in North America.

“The trend of attending live events in sport and entertainment, being led by the under 35s, looks set to continue. This group wants stadiums not sofas as they trade possessions for live experiences they can create, share and own,” Brown said.

JHE was founded by Jay Howard in 1988. The company, which got its start producing opening ceremonies at NASCAR races, has become a leader in experiential marketing. It operates mobile displays for Speed, Sprint, Ford and others.  Chime has multiple companies and agencies around the globe mostly focused on sports and event management.  One of them, CSM Strategic, was appointed a year ago by the Saudi Arabia Olympic Committee to lead the development of an Elite Saudi Athlete Programme designed to optimize final preparations for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
