Aug. 28. Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center has been named the best hospital in the Charlotte metro region for the ninth consecutive year in U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings.
Atrium also has the most ranked hospitals in North Carolina, according to the report.
Carolinas Medical Center was ranked No. 12 nationally on the Best Hospitals for Rehabilitation list, marking its fifth consecutive year of recognition. It is the highest-ranking rehabilitation hospital in the Southeast and the only one in the Charlotte region to make the list.
The Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute was also ranked among the top 50 hospitals for orthopedics.
U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions. Rankings are based on measures including risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care.
