Allen Tate observes 50 years in Davidson Sept. 30

Sept. 15. Allen Tate Realtors Davidson, formerly Knox Realty, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its brokerage office in historic downtown Davidson on Saturday, Sept. 30 with a drop-in event before and during the Concerts on the Green.

In 1973, Knox Realty opened in Davidson under the ownership and management of Davidson natives Russell and Patricia Knox.

Russell was a long-time mayor of Davidson at the same time his brothers were mayors of Charlotte (Eddie) and Mooresville (Joe).

Russell’s son, Rusty, is the current mayor of Davidson. Both he and his sister Beth Knox Sullivan have been top agents in the Davidson office for more than 30 years.

Allen Tate Realtors acquired Knox Realty in 2011. The agency was started by Patricia Knox in 1973.

The Davidson College Symphony will be performing at the Concerts on the Green Sept. 30.  The Allen Tate drop-in begins at 5 pm; the concert starts at 6.
