Entrepreneur/motorcyclist launches dealership in Statesville

April 5. Westside Twins Motorcycle Co. will hold a grand opening April 13 at its new Statesville location. The business was launched by Janette Thornley and her partners, Buddy Foss and Clyde Eller.

Thornley is a four-time national pro-fuel champion and a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast.

“All things motorcycle is the best way to describe us,” she said. She and husband Foss own 90 percent of the business.

It’s located on five acres at 2313 W. Front St. in Statesville,

The grand opening features the American Motor Drome Co.’s Wall of Death, a motorcycle stunt show. There will be live music, food vendors and local artisans at the grand opening which runs from 10 am to 6 pm.

Thornley holds the national record with NHRA as the fastest woman to ride a carbureted motorcycle in drag racing history.
