Jan. 10 The mast-and-cable superstructure is up on the bridge over I-77. Workers were on site all night and by 7 a.m they were tightening and adjusting the stainless steel cables, just like the rigging on a big sailboat. Workers said they expect to finish this afternoon, well ahead of schedule. The NC DOT said the project will wrap up at midnighttonight, merchants, of course, are eager for it to end sooner.

Fifi’s in The Shops at Fresh Market complex is having a makeover extravaganza to help attract business; Lake Norman Chrysler Jeep Dodge is “doing some pop up on our website and offering customers incentives to come in the showroom this weekend,” according to owner Jack Salzman. Meanwhile, Gov. McCrory will soon let the town know when he will come to Cornelius to christen the new bridge superstructure.
