BestCo expansion in Mooresville means 394 new jobs

Feb. 17. BestCo will invest $177 million to increase production capacity at its plant in Mooresville creating 394 jobs. The manufacturer of over-the-counter pharmaceutical, vitamin, and supplement products.

The payroll impact is expected to be more than $20.1 million a year. The project is estimated to grow the state’s economy by $2.8 billion.

“Life science companies rely on the educational and workforce training systems we’ve built for their specific needs, and we’ll continue to invest in the workers who power this important industry in our state,” said Gov. Roy Cooper in making the announcement.

The BestCo expansion will focus on its gummy line of products.

A 2019 expansion was valued about $50 million by BestCo. When complete, this newest expansion will result in more than 900 employees.

Although wages will vary depending on positions, the average salary for all the new jobs will be $51,209, in line with the current average wage in Iredell County of $51,136.
