Visit Lake Norman recently announced the winners of the 6th Annual Making Waves Hospitality Awards at an awards luncheon at Rural Hill, one of the top tourism destinations in North Mecklenburg. The winners pictured are:

Tourism is the fourth largest employer in North Meck. One in every nine people employed in Mecklenburg County works in the hospitality and leisure sector.

The John Kurti Unsung Hospitality Hero category award winner recognizes an individual that goes above and beyond to make Lake Norman a great destination and was awarded to JD Weber with the Lake Norman Tennis Association. He has served as chair of the LNTA tournament committee and coordinated the USTA NC 18+ Tennis State Championships.
